December 2009 - Christmas Sparkled |

This year a Christmas Wish Tree was added to the Grotto, where 17 lucky children's wishes were drawn and granted in time for Christmas. Also a dazzling decorations art workshop, a programme of Music in the Mall, a Cool FM Roadshow, and the opportunity to win Breakfast with Santa for 5 lucky grotto attendees made December feel extra festive in the Mall this year.

November 2009 - Snow White escorted Santa to his Grotto |

The Mall's Santa's arrival lead the Town Light switch on, as he was accompanied by Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Local primary schools were invited to take part in an art competition and to bring their choirs along to the Mall in support of an NSPCC fundraising drive.

October 2009 - Wicked Halloween in the Mall |

High Street Mall hosted a "Wicked Wiikend" during the Halloween break offering shoppers the chance to win Nintendo Wiis for the best competitors at the Head the Ball and Ski Jump challenges. The activity also launched High Street Mall's board sponsorship at Glenavon FCs playing grounds.

September 2009 - High Street Mall's Hillbilly Showdown |

For Country Comes to Town, High Street Mall expanded its Hillbilly Showdown this year with the support of the Seagoe Hotel. It became an open talent show with three heats covering adults and kids categories and culminated in singer Rebecca Wallace being crown the winner.

A kids funfair came to the car park for the country Comes to Town weekend, and retailers also got in on the 'country' act by competing to dress the best scarecrow, the public voted for this and guessed the number of apples in the cart throughout the week for chances to win country hampers. |

August 2009 - Country Themed Art Workshops |

The Mall put on a series of ‘crafty’ workshops across three Saturdays in August to take kids' minds of the ‘Back to School’ era, by preparing a country backdrop to display during Country Comes to Town. The artist was inundated with children who where kept amused by also decorating their own self-made country themed items to take home.

July 2009 -Independence Day at High Street Mall |

With a programme of performances by a Hannah Montana look-alike singer and High School Musical dancers, it was unmistakable that Independence Day was being celebrated in the Mall this year.

June 2009 - Fathers' Day Cookery Demonstrations |

The Ulster Pork & Bacon Forum brought a series of cookery demonstrations to the Mall, including a Can't Cook, Wont' Cook style competition for a Father and Son duo - winners of a local press competition.

May 2009 -Little Miss High Street Mall 2009 |

Entries were sought for this year's Little Miss High Street Mall competition through local papers. Grace Hagan went on to be crowned Little Miss High Street Mall 2009, at the Magic in the Mall finale in June, where 15 finalists took to the red carpet for a wee walk on the catwalk and an interview.

April 2009 - The Mad Hatters Tea Party |

The Mad Hatter and Alice in Wonderland were in High Street Mall during the Easter 'Egg-travaganza' to host a charity tea party in aid of Action Cancer. Meanwhile a Magic 105 road show encouraged entries to the Easter Egg hunt and participants in kids art workshop.

March 2009 - Mum's the Word at High Street Mall |

For Mother's Day, kids in the Mall got to paint a plaster mould for free to make a personalised gift to take home for Mum, while a unicyclist, stitlwalker, balloon modeller and colourful kids character kept the shoppers amused while buying Mothers Day gifts.

February 2009 - Love was in the Air on Valentine's Day |

Shoppers were serenaded by dreamy swing singer James Huish, while free chocolates from the Mall where handed out to get everyone in the mood. Also kids got to take part in a free craft workshop to make and take a vase with paper flowers to give to a loved one, and a Valentine’s Pamper Hamper was also given away in a press competition.
