December 2008 - Christmas all Wrapped Up


As well as Santa’s Grotto, colour was added by a kid’s christmas card workshop and a primary school colouring competition, and a Christmas atmosphere was made complete with a programme of Music in the Mall.  Children visiting the grotto had the chance to enter a competition to win a  Breakfast with Santa.  Finally, Meningitis Research Foundation where on hand to help wrap Christmas Presents in return for donations.

 

November 2008 - Snow Queen escorted Santa to Mall's Ice Grotto


Click to view the larger imageSanta's arrival at High Street Mall took on a wintry theme this year and Little Miss High Street Mall Shaw Welsh joined Santa and the Snow Queen in the fairytale horse-drawn glass carriage for a colourful procession  through Portadown accompanied by some cartoon characters.

October 2008 - Halloween Fun at the Mall


Click to view the larger imageIt was a fun packed and busy month in High Street Mall with cookery demos by renowned TV chef Jenny Bristow (thanks to ingredients supplied by Dunnes Stores), Action Cancer's Fashion Show, and Halloween storytelling by the Friendly Witch in her den.

September 2008 - Country Comes to Town
                               in association with High Street Mall


Click to view the larger imageAs title sponsor of the event, the Mall hosted a Hillbilly Showdown on the Thursday which incorporated a karaoke sing-off and a fancy dress competition, in addition to a range of family entertainment on the Saturday.  Retailers also got in on the act by competing to dress the best scarecrow, as voted for by the public throughout the week in return for the chance to win a country hamper.

August 2008 - Mad Hatter - Themed Art Workshops


Click to view the larger imageThe Mall put on a series of ‘crafty’ workshops across three Saturdays in August to take kids minds of the ‘Back to School’ era. The artist was inundated with children of all ages who where kept amused decorating their own cups, hats and tea cakes to take home.

April 2008 - Charity Grand National Sweepstake


Click to view the larger imageJolly jockey, Jenny Curran, encouraged some horsing around at High Street Mall when shoppers where whipped into a frenzy to support Meningitis Research Foundation through a Grand National sweepstake. Plus there was 'pin the tail' activities for the kids!

March 2008 - Easter with Goldilocks and the Three Bears


Click to view the larger imageGoldilocks and the Three Bears were in High Street Mall on Easter Saturday to meet and greet the public with chocolate lollies. Meanwhile a Magic 105 roadshow encouraged entries to Meningitis Research Foundation’s Easter Egg hunt, an Egg Painting competition and a competition to Guess the Weight of a large chocolate bunny.

February 2008 - Love in the air on Valentine’s Day


Click to view the larger imageLove was in the air on Valentine’s Day thanks to Action Cancer who ran a ballot with the top prize of a Valentine’s Pamper Hamper, donated by High Street Mall, They also offered a delicious chocolate fountain service. The activities were part of a week’s campaign that included a visit by the charity’s Big Bus.
